Ireland currently has 66 data centres.
With an additional 44 new data
centres currently under construction or with approved planning and five more going through the application process, this number will most likely rise. EirGrid calculates that, by 2028, data centres will be consuming 29 per cent of Ireland’s electricity.
As a state, we have made a net annual contribution to the EU budget of 1.5 billion euro in 2020, which will be 40% of our total national debt servicing. In 2018, Ireland was a net contributor of 720 million euro.
According to the government data Ireland will have made a gross contribution to the EU budget in 2020 of 3.48 billion, an increase of 1 billion from 2019.
2016 – 16.7% (2.02 billion)
2018 – 25.8% (2.58 billion)
2019 – 2.48 billion euro.
2020 – 40.0% ( 3.48 billion).
So Ireland’s Gross contribution to EU has increased by 1 bn euro since 2019.
Our net contribution has doubled since 2018.
Our EU future will be financially crippling.

Wind turbines are expensive, subsidised and an intermittent energy source (which always need a fossil few based backup)…and are clearly an environmental danger. And as Wind Turbines can’t be recycled…they are an expensive pollutant as well as a bird-chomping visual pollutant.
