Irish – A Window Into Our Past – iTV.ie

The Irish language is a beautiful and ancient tongue and the words and phrases of Irish allow us to get an insight into how our ancestors lived and how they saw the world around them. In this video I will explore this a little bit by focussing on the Irish word Bó which means cow, we will look at how the cow was such an important part of early Irish life and we’ll see this reflected in words that we use today in modern Irish.
