On Easter Monday, 24 April 1916, Pádraig Pearse standing outside the GPO in Dublin proclaimed the Irish Republic. In so doing, he explicitly associated nationalism with resurrection. The National Party commemorates the Rising of Easter Week and the Irish nationalists who fought and died to pass on a tradition of nationhood.

Patrice Morrissey from ‎Protest against Homelessness in Ireland and a few others put this video together a few months back to try raise awareness. Our country really needs to wake up and realise what is happening

Rent prices around Ireland have risen by 5.2% in the past year, with the average monthly price of rent in Dublin now costing over €1,400 with 98fm saying the average was more like 2,044 Euros per month! More than before the crash on ’08
